Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Tips for Integrating into Practice
Jan. 11 | 3 CE Credits | 10:00 am - 1:15 pm ET
Although motivational interviewing (Ml} has been demonstrated as a stand-alone approach for helping clients initiate change, research indicates that combing Ml with other evidence-based interventions (like cognitive behavioral therapy [CBT]} may result in improved client outcomes. This presentation will explore the rationale (and limitations} for integrating Ml and CBT into practice. Additionally, examples of how the four processes of Ml and associated skills/strategies are integrated into the treatment approach will be discussed. Familiarity with both Ml and CBT is suggested.
