Mindfulness Made Doable: Practical Tools for Everyday Presence in Therapy

Feb. 26, 2026

5:00 PM - 8:15 PM (EST)

Virtual Event
3 CE Credits
Mindfulness doesn’t have to be abstract. This workshop turns mindfulness into practical, teachable steps clinicians can use in everyday sessions—with creative tools, case examples, and experiential techniques to make mindfulness truly doable.

Mindfulness has become one of the most widely used concepts in modern therapy, but teaching it effectively requires more than just telling clients to “be present.” This three-hour workshop breaks mindfulness down into practical, applicable steps clinicians can use both for themselves and in sessions with clients. Participants will learn how to define mindfulness in behavioral terms, explore common barriers to mindfulness practice, and discover creative ways to weave mindfulness into therapeutic conversations and interventions. Through experiential exercises, case examples, and guided discussion, this training helps clinicians move from theory to practice—making mindfulness not just teachable, but truly doable.

Session Highlights
  • Mindfulness Demystified: Learn how to define mindfulness in behavioral, down-to-earth terms that make sense to clients (and to you).
  • From Concept to Conversation: See how mindfulness naturally fits into real therapy sessions through live examples and language you can start using immediately.
  • Overcoming Common Barriers: Explore why clients resist mindfulness (“I can’t sit still,” “my brain won’t stop”) and how to reframe those struggles to keep them engaged.
  • Practical Micro-Mindfulness Tools: Try out easy, in-session techniques that promote awareness and grounding without requiring a meditation cushion or 20-minute pause.
  • Clinician Presence as Intervention: Discover how your own mindful awareness during sessions can shape therapeutic outcomes and model regulation for clients.

This live interactive webinar is designed for behavioral health professionals, including:

  • Counselors
  • Social Workers
  • Psychotherapists
  • Marriage & Family Therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Substance Use Disorders Counselors
  • Case Managers

Lexi Mulee, LMHC, CASAC-T, C-DBTLexi Mulee, LMHC, CASAC-T, C-DBT

Founder and owner of Wise Mind Counseling, a thriving DBT-based private practice in New York City. She specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and applies it in her work with individuals navigating Borderline Personality Disorder, Eating Disorders, and Substance Use Disorders, with a particular passion for supporting LGBTQIA+ youth.  Lexi earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and her graduate degree from the University of Miami. With over a decade of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, she believes effective therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Her approach is highly individualized, strengths-based, and deeply collaborative, rooted in the DBT principle that client and clinician are equal partners, rowing together toward the client’s goals.  Beyond her clinical work, Lexi is a highly sought-after speaker and educator, known for her dynamic, relatable, and engaging teaching style—often compared to the likes of Brené Brown. Whether through storytelling, humor, or interactive exercises, Lexi has a knack for making even the most complex concepts feel accessible, inspiring, and fun to learn.
