There is a great need for clinicians to be knowledgeable and skilled in cultural diversity. Diversity exploration regarding biases, humility, sensitivity, and competence will be the focus of this presentation. Attendees will be encouraged to explore why and how cultural diversity is critical in formulating treatment approaches and being person-centered. Types of racism and examples will be presented. Attendees will be provided resources and information on combating implicit biases and using culturally affirming strategies with clients to identify their experiences with racism, bias, and discrimination. Attendees will be more informed and confident in their skills and knowledge related to all things cultural diversity.
