The Therapeutic Alliance as the Evidence-Based Practice | 3 CE Credits

Mar. 29, 2025

10:00 AM - 1:15 PM (EST)

Virtual Event
3 CE Credits
In our practice, we often emphasize evidence-based techniques but may overlook the crucial role of the therapeutic relationship in driving meaningful change. In this session, we will explore the foundations of humanistic psychology and the core principles of motivational interviewing while reflecting on our identities as helping professionals.
We focus a lot on evidence-based practices, but in doing so, we sometimes de-emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship as the most critical evidence-based factor. In this session, we will synthesize the roots of humanistic psychology, the motivational interviewing spirit, and who we are as helping professionals and tools to enhance the change process with clients. We are in this business to help people change! Learn about the key ‘evidence-based’ ingredients to support change! I will also share research findings from 70 years of psychotherapy research from the 2021 book by Bill Miller & Theresa Moyers. Join us in this experiential training as we learn evidence-based methods of showing up in the room.
