Mindfulness Built for Two: An Experiential Approach to Parts Work

Apr. 5, 2025

10:00 AM - 1:15 PM (EST)

Virtual Event
3 CE Credits
Enhance the therapy experience by using an experiential approach to parts work. This program explores inner “voices” as elements of the natural flow of mental experiences.
Make doing therapy more exciting and engaging with an experiential approach to parts work.  This program considers inner “voices” as features of the natural flow of mental experiences.  They are dealt with as they emerge, either by “taking over” their words or by personifying them visually. Participants will experience how pictures simultaneously increase the felt sense of flawed thoughts and create distance from them.  Positive images are used as projection tools to uncover inner assets. Partner exercises and a live demonstration will show how to externalize distress, find hidden strengths, and transform symptoms through memory reconsolidation.

Kate Cohen-Posey, MS, LMHC, LMFT

Kate  Cohen-Posey’s half-century as a clinician began with direct services, grew to authoring books for colleagues and clients, and blossomed into presenting integrative approaches nationally and internationally. Always passionate about cutting-edge therapies, she has immersed herself in mindfulness-based methods since  2021. Her love of enhancing best practices lead to the development of two psychotherapy tools: The Handy Brain Model and  Brain  Change Cards®. She has been the director of Professional  Psychological Services in Lakeland, Florida, and is currently an associate clinician at LifeStance Behavioral Health. • Compose statements that “take over” inner voices and externalize them.
