Ethical Quandaries Through a Fairy Tale: Navigating Complex Decisions

Jul. 12, 2025

10:00 AM - 1:15 PM (EST)

Virtual Event
3 CE Ethic Credits
This engaging training uses a fairy tale to explore complex ethical dilemmas, allowing participants to enter the protagonist’s role. Through interactive scenarios, we’ll examine ethical codes, weigh decisions, and discuss topics like technology, documentation, boundaries, informed consent, and confidentiality. This lively session fosters critical thinking and meaningful discussion on real-world ethical challenges.
Aiming to keep ethics training lively, Ethical Quandaries, as told through a fairy tale, allows participants to explore possible outcomes of their ethical decision-making process as the protagonist in complex situations. Using a fairy tale, we will review various scenarios that raise questions for ethical debate; examine professional ethical codes and standards related to the situations posed; choose possible options; and discover likely outcomes from those decisions. Topics will include technology, documentation, professional and cultural competency, boundaries, informed consent, conflicts of interest, privacy and confidentiality, and relationships.

This live interactive webinar is designed for behavioral health professionals, including:

Dayna Guido, MSW, LCSW

Dayna has always been a natural leader and a pillar of support for those around her. From a young age, she had a strong sense of empathy and a desire to help others, which led her to pursue a variety of roles in which she could make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Early on, as a lifeguard, she was responsible for ensuring the safety of those at the pool. She took this responsibility seriously, always going above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time while staying safe. All of this foreshadowed Dayna’s future.

As a therapist, she uses her skills to help her clients overcome their challenges and find meaning and purpose in their lives. As a supervisor and educator, Dayna continues to use her natural leadership skills to support her supervisees and students. In her professional career, Dayna excels as a leader, guiding teams with humor and creativity. She recognizes the importance of building strong relationships and always taking the time to listen to concerns and provide support.

After this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the ethical risks associated with technology and documentation.
  • Describe the intersectionality of boundaries, relationships, and conflicts of interest.
